Embroidered veteran hats and heavyweight tees by service era and theme

Our shop carries embroidered veteran hats, heavyweight t-shirts, long-sleeve shirts, polos, hoodies, mugs, and stickers across service eras (World War II, Korean War, Vietnam and Vietnam Era, Cold War, Gulf War and Desert Storm, and Post-9/11 including Iraq, Afghanistan, and GWOT), plus collections for veteran families, military occupations, oath and honor, veteran humor, and Veterans Day.

Each service-era design pairs the era name with “Veteran” in clean, high-contrast typography without restricted seals or medals. For veterans who prefer a general identifier across any period of service, we also offer the Veteran stars, Veteran compass, Anchor & Compass Veteran, and United States Veteran flag line designs.

On hats, the typography is stitched into Printful’s large front embroidery area. On t-shirts, the typography is printed across the chest. To keep lettering legible across the catalog, we pair light thread or ink with Black, Navy, Spruce, Dark Grey, Charcoal/Black, Moss/Khaki, Navy/White, Brown/Khaki, True Navy, Moss, and Granite blanks, and dark thread or ink with Khaki, Stone, Heather Grey/White, and White blanks.

Three blanks: dad hat, trucker hat, and heavyweight tee

Every design in the catalog is available on three blanks:

  • Classic Dad Hat (Yupoong 6245CM): An unstructured, 6-panel, low-profile cap with a 3 1/8″ (7.6 cm) crown, curved visor, 6 embroidered eyelets, and an adjustable strap with an antique buckle. Made from 100% chino cotton twill, with blank products sourced from Vietnam or Bangladesh. In our catalog, every dad hat is available in Black, Dark Grey, Khaki, Navy, Spruce, and Stone.
  • Retro Trucker Hat (Yupoong 6606): A structured, six-panel, mid-profile cap with a low-profile embroidery area and a 3.5″ (8.9 cm) crown. Built with hard buckram front panels, a mesh back for sun and warm weather, a Permacurv® visor with a matching undervisor, and a plastic adjustable closure fitting head circumferences from 21 5/8″ to 23 5/8″ (54.9 cm to 60 cm). Fabric composition varies depending on color and available stock between 60% cotton / 40% polyester and 74% polyester / 26% cotton, with blank products sourced from Vietnam or Bangladesh. Available in Black, Brown/Khaki, Charcoal/Black, Heather Grey/White, Moss/Khaki, and Navy/White.
  • Unisex Garment-Dyed Heavyweight T-Shirt (Comfort Colors 1717): A thick, structured, yet soft and breathable regular t-shirt style with a relaxed fit, made of 100% ring-spun cotton at a fabric weight of 6.1 oz/yd² (206.8 g/m²). Construction includes a 7/8″ double-needle topstitched collar, twill-taped neck and shoulders for extra durability, and double-needle armhole, sleeve, and bottom hems, with blank products sourced from Honduras. Available in Black, Granite, Khaki, Moss, True Navy, and White.

Which style to pick

Choose the Yupoong 6245CM dad hat if you want a soft, unstructured crown that sits low on the head and adjusts with a fabric strap and antique buckle. Choose the Yupoong 6606 trucker hat if you prefer a taller, structured front panel that holds its shape and a mesh back for airflow in the sun. Choose the Comfort Colors 1717 tee when you want a relaxed-fit, garment-dyed 6.1 oz/yd² ring-spun cotton shirt with reinforced seams.

Why our designs use typography only

The Department of Defense and the military services regulate commercial use of military branch names, seals, insignia, unit patches, flags, and medals through the DoD Branding and Trademark Licensing Program. Because those marks require a license, our catalog uses straightforward typography rather than branch emblems or campaign medals.

Shop by era collection

Browse our dedicated era collections—each holding that era’s dad hat, trucker hat, and heavyweight tee—or explore individual items across the catalog. Two hats, one for each of you: pair any unstructured cotton dad hat with a structured mesh trucker hat—or choose matching caps across eras—for a veteran and a spouse, child, or fellow service member.

Frequently asked questions

Why are the designs typography-based, with no seals or insignia?

The Department of Defense and each military department protect their seals, emblems, unit patches, flags, medals, and branch names as trademarks. Selling goods that use them requires a license through the DoD Branding and Trademark Licensing Program. Our designs use typography—era lettering with a dividing rule, or the word VETERAN with two stars or a compass rose—so they honor military service without using protected marks.

Do you sell gear with official military branch insignia or seals?

No. Official branch names, seals, insignia, unit patches, flags, and medals are protected marks licensed by the Department of Defense, and we do not sell official issue gear. Instead, our catalog is organized by service era—such as the Korean War, Vietnam, Cold War, Gulf War, and Post-9/11 eras—alongside general veteran designs.

What is the difference between the dad hat and the trucker hat?

The Classic Dad Hat (Yupoong 6245CM) is an unstructured, 6-panel, low-profile cap with a 3 1/8 inch (7.6 cm) crown, 6 embroidered eyelets, curved visor, and an adjustable strap with an antique buckle, made of 100% chino cotton twill. The Retro Trucker Hat (Yupoong 6606) is a structured, six-panel, mid-profile cap with a 3.5 inch (8.9 cm) crown, hard buckram front panels, mesh back, Permacurv visor with matching undervisor, and a plastic adjustable closure fitting a 21 5/8 to 23 5/8 inch (54.9 cm to 60 cm) head circumference.

What t-shirt blank do you use for the era and veteran tees?

All tees use the Comfort Colors 1717 Unisex Garment-Dyed Heavyweight T-Shirt. It is made of 100% ring-spun cotton at a fabric weight of 6.1 oz/yd² (206.8 g/m²) with a relaxed fit, 7/8 inch double-needle topstitched collar, twill-taped neck and shoulders for extra durability, and double-needle armhole, sleeve, and bottom hems.

How should I wash and care for my shirt or hat?

Machine wash t-shirts inside out in cold water with similar colors, and tumble dry on low or hang dry to preserve print quality. For embroidered hats, spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap, then air dry to maintain crown structure.
