Introduction and effective date
Truth Veteran (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your digital privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, handle, protect, and process information when you visit our website, utilize our educational resources, or purchase apparel through our online store.
This policy is effective as of October 28, 2026. By accessing Truth Veteran, you agree to the information practices described in this document.
Infrastructure and analytics
Our site runs on servers we operate, behind Cloudflare, which provides HTTPS encryption and network protection.
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use our site: which pages are viewed, how long visits last, the type of device and browser, the website that referred you, and your approximate location (city or region), which Google estimates from your IP address. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) so it can recognize a returning browser. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We have turned off Google signals and ad personalization, so this data is not used to show you ads or linked to a Google account, and we use it only in aggregate to improve the site. Google processes it as our service provider; you can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
We do not load Meta pixels or third-party behavioral advertising scripts, and we do not track your activity across other websites.
You can opt out by blocking or deleting cookies in your browser, by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by turning on Global Privacy Control (GPC). When your browser sends a GPC signal, our site does not load Google Analytics at all.
Cookie choices. The first time you visit, a banner lets you accept or reject analytics cookies, with equal-weight buttons. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland start with analytics off until they choose; elsewhere analytics is on by default and you can turn it off. Advertising cookies are off for everyone. Your choice is saved in your browser for 12 months, and you can change it at any time with the “Cookie settings” or “Your Privacy Choices” link at the bottom of every page.
Other than the analytics cookies above, the only cookies our site uses are strictly necessary ones for checkout and fraud prevention.
Interactive calculators and tools
Truth Veteran provides interactive tools, including VA disability rating calculators and back pay estimators. These tools are built with a client-side architecture.
All mathematical calculations and logic execute directly within your browser using local JavaScript. Any ratings, percentages, military service dates, or dependent details you input into these calculators are never sent to our servers, saved to a database, or shared with third parties. Once you close or reload your browser window, your input data is completely discarded.
Bot protection and customer communication
When you interact with our forms or reach out to our team, we process minimal necessary data:
- Bot protection: When it is turned on, we use Cloudflare Turnstile on our contact and newsletter forms to prevent automated spam and abuse. Turnstile assesses technical signals without collecting invasive biometric or cross-site tracking profiles.
- Contact inquiries: Messages sent through our forms or to
[email protected]are used solely to respond to your inquiry and provide customer service. - Email newsletters: If you subscribe to our email newsletter, we collect your email address. We use Cloudflare Email Service to deliver messages. Our newsletter requires double opt-in verification. Every newsletter contains a functional unsubscribe link. We never sell, rent, or share your email address.
Store operations and third-party service providers
When you make a purchase through the Truth Veteran store, we collect transaction information necessary to fulfill your order. Our e-commerce accounts, shopping carts, and order records operate on our own custom store system.
To process payments and deliver products, we partner with specialized service providers:
- Payment processing: We use Stripe to handle credit card, debit card, and digital wallet payments. Your complete payment card details are transmitted directly to Stripe’s secure infrastructure via encrypted tokens and never touch or reside on our servers. Stripe processes transactions in compliance with PCI-DSS Level 1 certification. Where applicable, state and local sales tax is calculated at checkout by Stripe Tax.
- Print fulfillment and delivery: Our apparel items are made to order by our print manufacturing partner, Printful. To print, package, and deliver your order, Printful receives the recipient name, shipping address, order contents, and phone number (if provided for carrier delivery alerts). Printful processes this data strictly to fulfill the order. We currently ship exclusively within the United States.
Data retention practices
We retain personal information only for the period necessary to fulfill legitimate operational and legal purposes:
- Order records: Customer purchase details, invoices, and shipping records are retained to satisfy tax obligations, maintain accounting compliance, and provide support under our returns policy.
- Inquiries: Customer support correspondence is retained as needed to respond to your inquiry and provide follow-up support.
- Newsletter subscribers: Email addresses remain in our subscriber database until you unsubscribe, after which your address is marked inactive and removed.
