About this design
A combat veteran hat and shirt with bold typography for those who served in a combat zone, embroidered on caps and printed on tees.
This design reads COMBAT VETERAN in solid, unembellished capitals. Across generations—from the Second World War and Korea to Vietnam, the Persian Gulf, Iraq, and Afghanistan—service in a combat theater creates a shared bond that crosses every era and specialty. Not every veteran wants a specific war, year, or map printed across their chest or stitched onto their hat; sometimes two words say everything that needs to be said.
Because the design skips campaign ribbons, rifles, and service seals, it works for any veteran who served under fire or deployed to a designated combat zone. Its understatement is intentional. The lettering is sized for clean legibility whether worn to a VSO meeting, a neighborhood barbecue, or a Veterans Day ceremony. Family members also pick this design as a respected gift for Father's Day, retirement, or Christmas when a veteran served in multiple combat deployments.
We stitch the artwork with direct embroidery on our dad hats, trucker caps, knit beanies, and polo shirts. On our tees, long-sleeve shirts, hoodies, ceramic mugs, and stickers, the same mark is printed to order.

How does the VA define a combat veteran for health care and disability claims?
Under 38 U.S.C. § 1710(e)(1)(D), a combat veteran for enhanced VA health care enrollment is someone who served on active duty in a theater of combat operations after November 11, 1998. For disability claims across all eras, 38 U.S.C. § 1154(b) requires the VA to accept satisfactory lay evidence of an in-service injury or disease from any veteran who engaged in combat with the enemy.
